Testing memberships like Function Health, Superpower, and InsideTracker give you a lot of lab data: dozens of biomarkers, tested once or twice a year. They also hold it. If you stop paying, what you can still see depends on the company, and none of them makes it easy to take your history with you. This page sets out what each one’s own terms say and how to keep a copy. We make HealthViewer, a desktop app for keeping lab results, which comes up at the end.

What happens when you cancel

Function Health. Function’s terms say cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle and that you “will maintain access to your Account until then”. We could not find anything on its site promising access after that, and its terms say that deactivating an account may lead to the deletion of your account and personal information. Function’s FAQ says you can download your results as a PDF. Download every report before your membership ends.

Superpower. Superpower’s membership agreement is the most generous of the three. Unless you ask for your account to be deleted, you “retain read-only access” to your account, your data, its visualizations, and your previous plans after you cancel. You lose the concierge, marketplace, and clinical services. Its FAQ says you can download or delete your data at any time. Download it anyway: read-only access depends on the company staying in business and keeping that policy.

InsideTracker. InsideTracker’s help center says that if you do not renew, you keep access to “your numerical data in table format”, though the optimal zones, recommendations, and reports need an active membership. We did not find a dedicated PDF or CSV export, so save or print the table view while you can.

How to keep a copy

  1. Download every report you can from the membership’s app or website, as PDFs, before you cancel.
  2. Check the lab’s own portal. Function draws blood at Quest, InsideTracker uses Quest in the US, and Superpower’s agreement says testing is done by Labcorp, Quest, or another lab. Look in your MyQuest or Labcorp account for the original reports. We have not confirmed that membership orders always appear there, so treat it as a backup, not a plan.
  3. Ask for your records. If a report is missing, ask the company, and the lab, for a copy. How to get all of your medical records explains your rights when a healthcare provider holds them.
  4. Put them somewhere that does not need a subscription. A spreadsheet works if you are disciplined about it. Our lab results spreadsheet template is a free starting point.

Where HealthViewer fits

HealthViewer keeps your lab history in one encrypted file on your Mac or Windows computer, for $24.99 once, with no account. It reads Quest and Labcorp reports, so originals from MyQuest or Labcorp import directly, and you can chart a membership’s biomarkers next to results from your regular doctor, your patient portals, and your medication changes.

We do not yet have a parser for Function’s, Superpower’s, or InsideTracker’s own PDF layouts. If one of their reports does not import, HealthViewer can read it with AI extraction using your own API key, or you can send us a redacted sample so we can add support.

Should you cancel?

If you want regular testing with a clinician’s review, a membership does something HealthViewer does not: it orders the tests. The question is only where your results should live. If you keep the membership, keep your own copy anyway. If you cancel, make the copy first.
